Community School celebrates 30th annual auction
The Community School’s 30th annual auction is this Friday, November 12, at The Rockport Opera House, and promises an unforgettable evening of fabulous food, fun and fast-paced bidding on over 200 auction items.
This year’s auction includes a Caribbean get-away, a weekend at Sugarloaf, an overnight on Monhegan, 18 holes of golf, a YMCA membership, schooner trips, white water rafting, jewelry and art work, Red Sox tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more.
One lucky bidder will win his or choice of two weeks in Spain, Ireland or Florida, while another will win two tickets to a Saturday Night Live Dress Rehearsal.
This year’s auction also features a shopping spree for four at a luxury boutique, dinner for four at The Camden Fire House, a ride on a fire truck, a sapphire and diamond necklace, and even a cord of wood delivered to your home.
There is simply something for everyone at this event, from auto detailing, oil changes and tire alignment to astrology readings, massage, makeovers, yoga, and even a custom portrait of your pet.
Whether you’re looking for the romantic, the practical or the downright quirky, you’re sure to find it at The Community School auction.
The evening includes a silent auction, a live auction with auctioneer Bruce Gamage, heavy hors d’oeuvres by Brevetto Kitchen and Wine Bar, fabulous desserts, and a cash bar.
The Community School was founded in 1973 as Maine’s first alternative high school, and all auction proceeds will help provide tuition assistance for Community School students.
Tickets are $25.00 and doors open at 5:30. Early reservations and early bidding are strongly encouraged, by calling 236-3000, x 110, or emailing michelle.thecommunityschool@gmail.com.
